Charles L. Dupin, MD, FACS

Charles Dupin, MD is the Program Director of the LSU Plastic & Reconstructive Surgery residency. He is a Clinical Professor of Plastic Surgery. He is a dedicated proponent of plastic surgery training and committed to excellence. He has had over 30 years of clinical experience in Plastic Surgery.

Dr. Dupin is a diplomate of the American Board of Plastic Surgery and the American Board of Otolaryngology. He was an important member of the LSU plastic surgery team that developed the perforator flap, along with Robert Allen, MD, and participated in international training courses teaching perforator flap techniques. He has a number of publications, which evolved from this new and exciting technique. One of these articles won the James Barrett Brown award as the best publication in the plastic surgery literature.

Dr. Dupin’s primary interests are in reconstructive microsurgery and breast surgery. He has also worked extensively in the area of facial reconstruction and published several book chapters about the techniques and principles of facial reconstruction.
