What is a Neck Lift?

When the neck area doesn’t match the upper facial appearance, a neck lift may be a good solution. A neck lift, or lower rhytidectomy, is any surgical procedure to improve the loss of youthful contours in the face, neck, and jawline. Such procedures can remove excess skin and fat in your lower face and under your chin, tighten loose neck skin, remove excess fat, and remove abnormal contours due to muscle banding in the neck. Contributing factors include heredity, gravity, environmental conditions, and stress. During your consultation, discuss your desired outcomes with your LSU Plastic Surgeon.

About the Procedure

Your LSU Plastic Surgeon will review all surgical options, procedures and recovery time during your consultation. Procedures performed depend on desired outcomes. Types of anesthesia will also be reviewed, depending on complexity of the procedure being done and your level of comfort.
