What is a Buttock Augmentation?

The buttocks can be flat due to genetics, or can flatten out due to significant weight loss. Buttock augmentation surgery is a procedure to increase the size of the buttocks. Techniques used are transferring/grafting fat (also referred to as a Brazilian butt lift,) using implants, or sometimes a combination of both. The outcome of the procedure is increased fullness, roundness, and projection of your buttock. This can improve the balance of your overall figure, and enhance your body-image and self-confidence. Your LSU Plastic surgeon will advise you on the technique best suited for your body and desired outcome.

About the Procedure

Results of buttock implants are immediately visible and permanent. Over time, the swelling resulting from surgery will resolve and incision scars will fade. Some of the initial volume resulting from the grafting may decrease over time, and will be affected by fluctuations in body weight. Your LSU Plastic Surgeon will fully explain what to expect from the procedure and recovery time.
