What is a Rhinoplasty?
Rhinoplasty, commonly known as a nose job, reshapes and enhances the proportions of your nose, resulting in an improved facial balance. Also, if the nose has structural defects that impair breathing, rhinoplasty can correct such conditions.

Various changes can be made with a rhinoplasty: the size of your nose in relation to other facial features, nose width at the bridge or nostrils, profile of your nose (visible bump or depression on the bridge,) nasal tip (enlarged, bulbous, drooping, upturned, or hooked,) or nasal asymmetry.

Rhinoplasty, when used to correct a deviated septum, improves an obstructed airway that can frequently cause chronic congestion and breathing problems. This involves careful evaluation of the nasal structure with regard to breathing and airflow.

Your nose is one of the prominent features of your face, and has a big impact on your self-image and appearance. Itís important you discuss your desired outcome with your surgeon, whether minor or significant.

About the Procedure:
Rhinoplasty is usually done on an outpatient basis, but may require and overnight stay in a hospital or surgery center. Either general or local anesthesia can be used. As with more surgical procedures, recovery time will vary from patient to patient and should be discussed with your physician.
